Partenariat EPA (European Parents Association)

EPA–EGPE : Memorandum of Understanding on a joint commitment to promoting Intergenerational Learning, Lifelong Education, and Social Inclusion

In an era marked by rapid social, technological, and demographic change, traditional models of education and social engagement must evolve to foster meaningful connections between generations. The European Parents’ Association (EPA) and the École des Grands-Parents Européens (EGPE) recognize that grandparents and older adults play a vital role in supporting families, transmitting values, and contributing to the educational and social fabric of communities.

Both organizations share a commitment to fostering environments where knowledge, experience, and values are exchanged across generations. This collaboration is inspired by the principles of intergenerational solidarity, lifelong learning, and social cohesion, as well as by the goals of the European Education Area and the EU Action Plan on the European Pillar of Social Rights.

Starting from May 2026, the two organizations commit to:

 – Promoting intergenerational learning and dialogue to address contemporary social challenges and foster mutual understanding between generations.

 – Advocating for policies that support the role of grandparents in education, family life, and society, including digital inclusion and lifelong learning.

 – Developing joint initiatives to enhance the visibility and impact of intergenerational programs, such as workshops, webinars, and awareness campaigns.

 – Strengthening collaboration among their respective members at national and local levels to enable joint projects and resource sharing.

 – Supporting and endorsing each other’s policy papers, research, and advocacy efforts, particularly those related to intergenerational solidarity, social inclusion, and lifelong education.
